I feel like I should say something. . . I've got nothing.

Eric: . . . <sigh>
[Jeremie grabs a hold of Ulrich’s arm.]
Stein: Hey! I'm talking to you!
Eric: Off.
Stein: Will you just listen to me?
Eric: Look, it's fine. I really don't care if you guys kiss and whatever, but this game probably isn't for me.
Stein: That wasn't— We weren't actually—
Andy: You good, Stein?
Stein: Ugh, I'm fine. She just caught me off guard. And perhaps went a little too in-character.
[Ulrich jerks his arm free from Jeremie’s grip.]
Eric: Get off already! Geez!
Stein: Whoa! Okay!
Eric: And what the hell do you mean with this "too in-character" excuse?
Stein: People get too in the moment and forget that it is just a game? What else would I mean?
Eric: . . . How do you just "forget" that?

Know that feeling well. That feeling of feeling like you should say something but having nothing.

Has Eric never watched a good movie or played a videogame- or played a racing game? Where you just get so into it that you say something out loud or react physically to the characters.

I mean everyone knows leaning into the turns doesn't help in racing games but that doesn't stop anyone either.

He totally has, but it's one thing to act out while in the zone and another thing when you get really touchy-feely with a living person during it.
