The Ice Sector!!! We haven't seen this since the prequel which ended... wow, nearly a year and three months ago now.

Can we show appreciation for the Ice Sector? While the other sectors have a few different materials for their landscapes, this one only uses ice and water. The glaciers look amazing, and the simulated water actually reflects and ripples!!! And waterfalls! I think liquid would be one of the hardest things to animate in any medium.

We will resume three pages a week on December 3rd. Have a good week!

Transcript

Madeline: Okay, um, what am I doing?
Taylor: Aelita is currently in the Ice Sector.
Ian: Wow, it's been ages since we've seen this place.
Rachel: It's only been a month.
Taylor: You're relaxing in a tower doing some research —
Andy: You mean chilling?
Stein: Don’t.
Taylor: — when you sense something's a little off.
Madeline: Um, can I use the tower to investigate remotely?
Taylor: Unfortunately, no.
Madeline: . . . I'll, uh, look around outside for danger first.
Taylor: Good idea, but you don't see any monsters waiting for you. Now give me Spot.
<ROLL>
Madeline: 12. Wait, wait, wait! I have the Alertness feat, so it's 14! Sorry.
Taylor: It's okay. At the top of an icy plateau is what looks like a ball of fire.
Taylor: Against the blue landscape and dark sky, it sticks out like a sore thumb.

It's great to see that you're feeling ready to start 3 pages per week again!

Water IS one of the most difficult things to animate in 3D. Even nowadays, it's difficult to get realistic water physics- takes a lot of processing power, which, I imagine, is why we don't see this sector that often.

I would have made that pun.
