Taylor would've totally given Eric a bonus if he had mentioned a seatbelt earlier, but. . . he gets extra damage for not having one. Seatbelts will save your life, people! This has been your PSA!

In other news, I totally came up with a time line for this series. Currently, this session is on Monday, October 9th. The campaign began on Monday, September 11th and continued every week.

Transcript

Taylor: XANA pushes the bulldozer beyond its limits, increasing its speed to Street speed.
Eric: Hey, uh, are you sure it wouldn't slow down some? You know, so the machine won't be damaged?
Taylor: You'd like to think that, but nope. Full ramming speed!
Eric: Shit, shit, shit!
<CRASH!>
Taylor: Whoo! The impact shatters the bulldozer's windows and cracks the beam!
Eric: . . . That's, uh, that's a lot of dice.
Taylor: Make a Reflex Save to take only half of the damage.
<ROLL>
Eric: That's a 1. And I forgot to check for a seatbelt.
Taylor: Huh. Let me see here. . . You're at -2 HP.
[Ulrich slumps on the floor of the bulldozer, his arm dangling out of the broken window.]
Eric: Wait, am I dead for real?
Andy: Only mostly dead.
Ian: You are dying, but you won't be dead until you reach -10 HP. Someone needs to stabilize you before you can recover.
Eric: . . . Uh, Rachel?
Rachel: I'll be there by the next round.

Ah yes, character death.
And usually the lack thereof, but in a game like one set in code lyoko you get an interesting mix of “I can die once a session in the virtual world” and “I’m here fighting a giant teddy bear in the real world where I can’t afford to die”.

Indeed. You'll have to keep track of where you are if you don't want death to be final.
