I sold our bard to a dragon as a concubine once. I really didn't think fighting it was a good idea...

Recently I took over a gang with my Wu Jen. The big boss was being rude so I murdered him and then started talking to the second in command who was much more cooperative with his boss having an ice knife in the head.

Those are both more wait what moments than screwing over the plot though...

Impossible means impossible regardless of how well you roll (except maybe in Exalted, I suppose). GM could absolutely just say sorry-nope.

I don't think anyone actually said it would be impossible. Even if it technically should have been.

I always build rich worlds with well defined logic to the magic and natural resources (like how awakened weapons like zanpakuto work and how souls move from one world to another through the planes). And eventually, my players, understanding the mechanics, turn them against me to completely derail my plot points.
