This page took for-freaking-ever, probably longer than it should have, and yet I'm soooo satisfied with it. This is the first time I changed a screenshot so drastically, and it looks soooo cool!

Eric: First Sissi forced me into a date my first day here, and then that girl with the teddy bear - !
Taylor: Milly?
Eric: Yeah, her. She asked only me to go to the dance with her. And then there’s Sissi’s demands!
Eric: Just – they only crush on me? Why? Why not Andy or Ian or even Rachel?! Why is it just me that’s having these romantic subplots?
Eric: Just how many more of these do you have planned?
Taylor: Well, uh -
Eric: Do YOU have a crush on me?!
Taylor: Wha? Hold -
Eric: Is that the reason? Is that why there are so many?!
Taylor: Hey, there’s -
Eric: Look, you’re nice and all, but I’m not interested, okay?!
Eric: I’ve told everyone again and again that I don’t care, but they won’t leave me alone!
Eric: Why can’t everyone just see that? I DON’T WANT A DAMN GIRLFRIEND!
Eric: <huff> <huff>
Taylor: Better?
Eric: Somewhat, yeah. It doesn’t solve my problem, but yeah.
Eric: . . . Sorry for yelling at you.
Taylor: If it helps, I do NOT have a crush on you.
Eric: Well, I’m a jerk for accusing you then. Sorry.

I feel a simultaneous urge to both hug Eric and punch him at the same he was a STUPENDOUS jerk for jumping to that sort of assumption. But he seems genuinely remorseful and simply stressed out over the idea of the situation...i vote punch him flat, THEN hug him.

On the other hand, we don't fully know Eric's perspective; there's some implied outside pressure in the outburst, and in game, he has been repeatedly forced into situations he obviously finds uncomfortable.

From the very first NPC interaction, there's an implied relationship, and later, Milly is literally "people will die if you don't go on a date with this person". In each case, the relationship itself has a rather manipulative nature, whether it's relying on GM hand-wave, reliance on him being a good/kind person, or literal blackmail. There may be a prior IRL relationship we haven't heard about which was similarly manipulative, or he could have some other reason for his dislike of relationships.

The actual assumption was a bit of a sideways leap, but in a situation with a significant outside pressure, say, nagging parents, room-mates, etc. or preexisting modifiers, it could easily lead to a level of near-paranoia. Add in the issues with player/character separation, and it doesn't seem quite so far a leap to make.

Obviously, it would have been better if this issue had been worked out more calmly, but this is a comic about college age(?) people playing teenage characters: I'd be surprised if there weren't emotional outbursts and major "Drama".

So...I should hug him, then punch him on this other hand?

I'd say wait to decide your verdict on the next page. :)

I'm starting to wonder if Eric is asexual. He did say that he's told 'everyone over and over again' that he doesn't care. I could see that compounding really easily with forced romantic subplots to be especially uncomfortable for him

seem like this is tying with some irl issues for Eric.
