I wish I took some computer courses in college, but I didn't realize how interesting coding could be until my last year.

I'm also not entirely sure why they painted Jim as a king. I mean, sure they're glad he's alive and that he saved Sissi, but, uh, it still confuses me a little.

Transcript

Eric: Are we going to spray paint another picture? I doubt a ridiculous one would help the mood.
Andy: It’d give people a few laughs.
Eric: And others would find such humor disrespectful or that we’re not taking this death seriously.
Stein: That’s a good point. Andy? Mind making a different picture?
Andy: . . . Eh. Sure.
<SCRITCH SCRITCH>
Andy: It’s a quick sketch, but how’s this?
[A smiling Jim is painted as he normally looks, with no exaggerated features. A golden crown adorns his head, and he wears a fur-lined cape, fitting for a king.]
Ian: I approve!
Taylor: Hmm, the principal thinks you’re channeling grief into something positive, but the two of you get detention for vandalism.
Stein: After Jeremie researches the supercomputer, I’ll change the coding so a dead person won’t be passed over.
Taylor: It’s XANA that’s the problem. Besides, do you really want to mess with a supercomputer this complex?
Stein: . . . I spend the rest of vacation linking the flood program to an activated tower.
Andy: Huh? What would that do?
Stein: When a tower is deactivated, we’ll automatically go back in time within seconds.
Andy: Oh, sweet.

I'm pretty sure it's because he almost-kinda saved Ulrich's life... Maybe.

I think you're right. Even if Jim thought he just prolonged Ulrich's life by a few minutes, those extra minutes really counted for the return trip to take effect. It's a shame Jim doesn't remember it. I think he would've better appreciated the picture.
