You know what's weird? The day after I made this strip, my grandparents asked me if I wanted a pet. Now, I've got an animal companion of my own: a lovely cat named Magic. Thankfully, she makes less of a mess than Kiwi.

Transcript

Eric: The heck did you draw?
Andy: Huh? Oh, that’s Kiwi.
Eric: . . . That’s not a fruit.
Andy: No, no, his name is Kiwi. He’s my little diggity dog.
Ian: Really? Another animal companion?
Stein: Looks really dumb.
Taylor: You do know that pets aren’t allowed at Kadic, right?
Andy: Yeah, I’ll just hide him in my room.
Taylor: . . . Ulrich finds that the dog made a giant mess in Odd’s and your room. And in your bed.
Eric: You’re kidding.
Taylor: Wish I was, but that’s one of the hazards of keeping a pet.
Eric: If pets aren’t allowed, shouldn’t I tell a teacher?
Taylor: You can if you want.
Andy: Aw, come on! Kiwi didn’t mean any harm!
Eric: I’m telling.

Awww!!! I love pets!

Anybody out there listening, favorite animal companion type or a story about such an animal companion, live or in game!

We have six dogs, all of whom are noisy but loveable in their own ways.

WOLVES! I used to have a werewolf in a game that acted as an animal companion to my character...

I tend to fall horribly within the Rogue archetype. I prefer cautious sneaking and that sweet sound of sneak attack damage.

Which is why my favorite animal companion was my cat, Boo Boo. She loved slinking about and would laze all over the place, but only seemed to like it when girls picked her up. I was the only guy to not get hissed or scratched at while holding her, she was so precious.

I will never forget Popeye the Schipperke. He was my first dog and I loved him. He's gone now. He was energetic, but quiet and a very good dog.
