I don't know if the "Someone will die," "Of fun!" is a dead meme or unfunny, but when I wrote Ulrich's line, "of fun" was the first thing I thought of. And I think it's funny.

What IS a meme? I never understood the term. I've always known it from DeviantArt as "OC meme" where you answer questions about your OCs, but apparently it's also something funny? Can someone explain it please?

Taylor (Principal Delmas): And now’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for!
Brian (Random Student #1): Booooo!
Taylor (Principal Delmas): Ahem. It’s time to elect this year’s beauty queen!
Taylor (Principal Delmas): And here is our first candidate: Elisabeth Delmas!
Eric: I cut the music and stand on a table.
Taylor: And there’s a microphone on said table. The floor’s yours.
Eric: Uh, um. . .
Stein: Just go with your gut.
Eric (Ulrich): We, uh, have to leave or we’ll all, uh, die.
Andy (Random Student #2): Of fun?
Eric (Ulrich): No! Something’s coming here, and it doesn’t care who’s in its path.
Brian (Random Student #1): Eeek!
Taylor (Random Student #3): And what is coming?
Eric (Ulrich): A giant teddy bear. The size of Godzilla.
Rachel (Random Student #4): Lame.

My understanding of ‘meme’s is sadly lacking. So can’t help you there. I found it funny though.

A meme is anything that is Memetic, usually something passed down through pop culture or otherwise.
Two examples are Egyptian Hieroglyphs involving cats, and a good few quotes from various movies, though I'll stick to Star Wars quotes.

There's a lot of jokes about both Hieroglyphs and Cats, which have combined to form memetic jokes about how those wacky Ancient Egyptians were making "funny cat videos pictures" that we now believe are them worshiping said cats.

Two SW quotes stand out for how memetic they are: Admiral Ackbar's "It's a Trap!" and Anakin's "I hate sand" line.

In online culture, a "meme" is a joke (usually using a reaction pic/gif) that surges in viral popularity, before dropping to the back burner anywhere between 3 and 9 months after its initial creation, only showing up again for smaller waves of popularity, or to become the punchline for another joke.

One example is the "Loss" comic from the webcomic Ctrl Alt Del (CADComic). The comic started out as two guys on a couch playing video games, but then grew to have a full on story, up until one of the characters got a girlfriend, who got pregnant, and then... had a miscarriage. Thus, that particular page's title: Loss. It initially caused an uproar over how it jumped the shark for a comic that was originally all about comedy, so now people make jokes about its mere existence with other things.

Meme can also be considered a short form of "Memetic Virus"- aka a concept or idea that spreads from mind to mind, 'infecting' hosts and using them to pass it further.

Rickrolling is a Meme. Lolcatz are memes individually, and a meme when taken all together. Caption'd images are memes if they utilize specific images or formats (it's the format, more than the specific content, that is the Meme).

In a way, you could call Language itself a Meme, but one that has formed a symbiotic relationship with us.
